White Roses
As some of you might know, White Roses symbolizes reverence and eternal loyalty. Others interpret it as young love, eternal loyalty and everlasting love. How rare to find one of that quality in this era because everyone is sometimes selfish in order to gain the greater good. In youth, you will experience everythingδΈfirst love, misunderstandings, betrayal, maturity and self-awareness. You know who you are now and what you are capable of, but some don't. Youth is not something everyone goes through the same way. They all went through it differently, differentiate by how they handle their problem and pain with their own solutions. It's up to you how you want your life to be written.
So, I want to relate White Roses with Brianna Wiest words because I think they're connected somehow in my own sense.
The great act of self-love is to no longer accept a life you are unhappy with. It is to be able to state the problem plainly and in a straightforward manner.
~The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest
Brianna words made me realize that I have been working on myself the wrong way. I kept want to change myself for the better but forgot that the problem actually lies within me. To be able to recount back the events is hard enough but to go through the memories again is not an easy feat for everyone. But if I can do that, that accomplishment is enough for me. So, Pat yourself in your head if you finally overcome your true fears. You deserve it. Truly.
Brianna wrote that the first step we took is a step closer towards the real change that we want in real life. I took that challenge like it's finally the sign for me to do things differently this time. Since I just read the book, I don't really have much to share except about my first week of hectic classes.
Lots of new friends and lecturers that I met, some looks so scary, and some look so laid back to get along with that they asked some bizarre questions. Like in my business class, the lecturer asked us to introduce ourselves and tell him about our ambitions. My friends and I literally looked at each other with our faces looked like we're so dead. Who would even have an ambition at this age. We're still trying to figure things out and still exploring on all of our options. Imagine the look on our faces and the glee look on the lecturer's face. It's either that or telling the whole class your CGPA. So, nah, that's a question for when we're at our death door. So, we went with the less life consuming question. We were toast for sure, but we still nailed the question anyway by just giving the answer randomly.
I actually started reading the book last Wednesday during class because the lecturer was nowhere to be found and he didn't come to class. I had time to kill so why not? It's easier because I have the e-book version. I like highlighted a lot of words. One of them was the words above. Here's a snippet of what Brianna said after that:
